Roger Vega is a junior on the varsity soccer team here at Boro. Roger has been playing soccer since the 1st grade. He used to play for a team in Freehold outside of school, but now he plays for Manalapan Inferno. Roger does so much with soccer, all on top of juggling his school work. He does a great job of maintaining good grades, all while being able to set his mind on soccer.

I have asked Roger a few questions about being a student athlete and these were his responses:

  • What is your favorite thing when it comes to playing a sport?

My favorite thing when it comes to playing a sport is winning.

  • What stresses you out the most about being a student athlete?

What stresses me out most about being a student athlete is doing schoolwork after practices or games.

  • What is your favorite thing about being on a team?

My favorite thing about being on a team is playing the game with the people you enjoy being around.

  • If you could change anything about being an athlete what would it be?

If I could change anything about being an athlete it would be to spend more time on that sport and not worrying about anything else.
