2018 Movie Rewind

2018 Movie Rewind

By Hannah Cohen, Staff Writer

This year flew by and now is the time to think about everything that has been happening. Here are some movies for each month of 2018 that were most popular:

The Start of the Year

The first movie of the year was Insidious: The Last Key, a horror film that came out on January 5th. Other well known movies from January are The Post, Paddington 2, and Maze Runner: The Death Cure. In February, the highest rated movie was Black Panther.

Spring Movies

There were a number of movies that came out in March, April, and May. In March, the popular movies were A Wrinkle in Time, Love, Simon, and Midnight Sun. In April, Avengers Infinity War, the highest rated movie of the year, came out, following the horror movies A Quiet Place and Truth or Dare. Finally, in May, the Deadpool 2 went in theaters.

Summer Movies

Some June movies were Incredibles 2, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Tag, and Oceans 8. In July, Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and—my personal favorite—Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again released. Lastly, the popular movies in August were Dog Days, Crazy Rich Asians, and The Meg.

Fall Movies

Once September came and it was time to go back to school, Small Foot, The Nun, The House with a Clock in its Walls went into theaters. The movies in OCtober included A Star is Born, The Hate U Give, and, of course, a classic scary movie for the month, Halloween. In November, the Christmas spirit started with Dr. Seuss’: The Grinch, Creed II, and Ralph Breaks the Internet.

Now, it’s December, and the popular movies this month are Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and the upcoming movies Aquaman and Mary Poppins Returns. Enjoy the rest of the year and make 2019 a good one. See you at the movies!
