An Indian wedding normally consists of 5 days: Jaggo, Puja, Mayian, Wedding, and Reception. They wear heavy Indian clothing and spend months planning for this week. Parties last anywhere from 5-12 hours.

Jiya is a Senior at Freehold Boro High School. She has been a member of The Colonial since she was a Sophomore and is a part of the Health Professions Pathway Program. She has a pet parrot named Rainbow, who is very friendly. Jiya is part of a couple of clubs in the school such as Earth Club, Asian Club, The Colonial, HOSA, Boro Fights Cancer, Sports Medicine Club, Together We Can, and Film Club; and she plans on joining more as the year goes on. Jiya plans on pursuing a career in medicine. She loves to travel and hopes to go on a world tour in the future.
