The election is less than a month away! On November 4th, New Jersey will be picking its newest governor.
If you are turning 18 before November 4th, you can register and vote in this election! You can register here with just a Driver’s License or Social Security number. (The deadline to register for this election is October 14th).

Mikie Sherrill
Democratic Nominee
Lt. Gov Nominee: Dale Caldwell
Mikie Sherrill is the Democratic candidate for governor. She is currently the congressional representative for the 11th District of New Jersey. She is also a former federal prosecutor and Navy helicopter pilot.
Her top three issues are:
- Affordability
- Housing
- Health Care Costs
Jack Ciattarelli
Republican Nominee
Lt. Gov Nominee: Jim Gannon
Jack Ciattarelli is the Republican candidate for governor. He was a businessman in the medical publishing industry and represented the 16th Legislative District in the NJ General Assembly. He has run for governor before, in 2017 and 2021.
His top three issues are:
- Affordability
- Government Reform
- Election Security

However, some lesser-known polls have been showing that the race could be much closer.
How to Vote
There are three ways to vote in Monmouth County:
- In-Person Voting on Election Day (November 4th)
- A few weeks before the election, you will receive a sample ballot with your polling location on it.
- In-Person Early Voting (October 25th-November 2nd)
- You can find an early voting location on the Monmouth County Votes Website.
- Mail-In Voting
If you can’t make it to a polling location, you can vote by mail for any reason in New Jersey. Fill out the application on the Monmouth County Votes Website to receive a vote by mail ballot.
