Some turn to activities such as pumpkin picking or doing corn mazes – but for those who want to enjoy the fall season from the comfort of their home, watching movies is a perfect alternative. Here are some of the best movies to watch to get you into the autumn spirit. 

 

  1. Hocus Pocus (1993)

This fantasy-comedy movie follows a boy and his sister as they accidentally resurrect three witches, and must find a way to save their town from them. Taking place during Halloween and being a childhood favorite to many, it’s a perfect fall movie to watch with family to get you in the mood for Halloween.

 

  1. Coco (2017)

Miguel wishes to become a musician, just like his town’s hero Ernesto de la Cruz. There’s only one issue: his family banned music. On the Day of the Dead, Miguel accidentally gets transported to the Land of the Dead. During his stay, he must team up with his ancestors to find out the truth behind his family’s ban on music. From the time period to the character designs, this is another great movie to watch with your family during Fall. 

 

  1. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

Do you want to feel festive for both Halloween and Christmas? Luckily for you, this movie combines themes from both holidays to make an interesting and entertaining story about Jack Skellington, the king of Halloween Town. Upon his discovery of Christmas Town, Jack decides to have the citizens of Halloween Town put on Christmas instead of Halloween. 

 

  1. Coraline (2009)

This eerie film follows Coraline, a young girl who’s struggling with having just moved into a new apartment as well as her relationship with her parents. During her exploration of her new home, she discovers a secret door. One night, she decides to go through the door, and is greeted with versions of her parents that act caring towards her and neighbors that are enjoyable to be around; all of which have buttons for eyes. This all seems amazing to her, but is it too good to be true?

Upon finding out that he escaped, his psychiatrist Sam Loomis must find a way to stop him before it’s too late.
