Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was recently released in theatres across the globe, and since then everyone’s been asking the same question: how does it compare to its predecessor?

This film was given the extremely difficult task of dealing with the tragic death of actor Chadwick Boseman. It not only serves as a tribute to Boseman, but serves its purpose as its own movie with a compelling plot and conflict. Chadwick Boseman’s character, T’challa, has passed due to an unknown sickness – leaving Queen Ramonda to assume the throne.

But trouble arises when French and American soldiers search for Wakanda’s exclusive and powerful metal, vibranium. The American Government tracks vibranium in Talokan, an underwater civilization. Their leader, Namor, is angered by this, as he has aimed to keep the existence of their civilization secret. When Namor reaches out to Wakanda for assistance he is denied, leading to the start of war!

This film shows T’challa’s younger sister Shuri taking on the mantel of the Black Panther and leading Wakanda through their conflict with the outside world. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is a beautiful film honoring the legacy of Chadwick Boseman, while still covering the struggle of grief and loss while managing to be its own blockbuster movie. Similar to its predecessor, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is an amazing addition to the MCU’s expanding universe and is worth watching for new and old fans!
