On September 12, 2025, our school finally had a pep rally for the first time in over fifteen years, and it was incredible. Thanks to our new principal, Mr. Brown, the tradition came back, and the energy was unreal. Students and staff were on their feet cheering for all the fall teams—football, cheer, boys’ and girls’ soccer, tennis, field hockey, and the band. It was so exciting to see everyone come together and celebrate school spirit again.
The rally was full of fun, especially with all the games that had everyone laughing and competing. The band’s music and the cheerleaders’ routines kept the energy going the whole time. Students and staff were cheering for every team, and the whole gym was buzzing. With quotes from the cheer coach, the new SECA, Mr. Esposito, Mr. Brown, and Mr. Gross, this pep rally is definitely one we won’t forget.
Quotes from the Pep Rally
Principal, Mr. Brown: “ I feel that it was such an amazing experience. It really culminated what it meant to wear that navy blue and gold. It was so cool to see about 75% of our student body come out in one place, and I think that, matter of fact, I don’t think I know that everybody who walked into that gym felt the excitement, felt the energy, and felt the pride in being a Colonial. We all came together as one and celebrated what it meant to be a colonial. So, to me, I thought it was a great kickoff to the school year. I’m very excited, and we have a lot more stuff to come.”
Cheer Coach, Coach Lapointe: “I think the pep rally this year was really fun. The students were really excited to have a pep rally. Finally, the cheerleaders have been trying to get a pep rally together for as long as I’ve been here, for the past 4 years. So I was really excited for them, as well as the rest of the student body, that we were finally able to put some pep into the beginning of the school year. “
SECA, Mr. Esposito: “I thought our first pep rally in what I was told in over 10 plus years was a super success. It was great to see all the students of Freehold Boro attend the pep rally and be involved to see your athletes highlighted, our cheer, and our band. It was outstanding.
Band Director, Mr. Gross: “ I thought it was an awesome time because we haven’t had one in many, many years. It was great to have one and have the school show that spirit again.”
