Here’s Where to Catch Cherry Blossoms This Spring

Spring is in the air and flowers are blooming! It’s finally cherry blossom season! Here are some places in the U.S. that have some of the best cherry blossoms for this season: 

The National Mall, Washington, DC – Washington is very well known for their visitors during cherry blossom season. More than 1.5 million people come to visit this place during the three-week-long National Cherry Blossom Festival. The festival is to celebrate Japan’s relationship with the U.S. when they first gave 2 cherry blossoms back in 1912. 

Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Brooklyn, New York – New York’s famed cherry blossoms. The Brooklyn Botanical Garden puts on the popular Sakura Matsuri, a weekend festival that celebrates their cherry blossoms and honors Japanese culture through music, dance, food, and art.

Missouri Botanical Garden, St Louis, Missouri – The Missouri Botanical Garden has more than 100 varieties of cherry blossoms. They also host a “Sake and Sakura” event on April 7th to celebrate the trees’ beauty through Japanese food and drinks. 

Wooster Square, New Haven, Connecticut – New Haven is the site of the annual Cherry Blossom festival. It happens every April to welcome the Yoshino cherry blossoms. The one-day festival has live performances, a family and children area, food vendors, and authors/artisans.
