I am a little, translucent container of homemade chocolate cookies on a bakery shelf. There are a lot of goodies next to me on the same shelf I’m on. There are also many handcrafted treats on top of the shelf I’m on, and they’re all my buddies below me. I’d known them since the beginning; we were all formed in the bakery together. My buddies and I witnessed several strange events in the bakery. There is a small golden bell on the enormous door in our bakery, and every time it opens, a giant creature enters our bakery, where my friends and I dwell, and removes one of us off the shelf. This occurs daily. Half of my buddies have vanished, and we have no idea where they have gone, which I find frightening, and we haven’t been ourselves in a long time. I can sense the tension in the bakery; we’re all terrified, wondering which of us will be kidnapped next. Muffie the Muffin, Carrie the Carrot Cake, Hana Banana Bread—the list goes on—and for those I never saw again after leaving the bakery, their destiny was sealed. The same thing happened to me one day. I was napping and I’m a heavy sleeper, and until I was woken up by someone grabbing me off the shelf, I screamed I was in a panic a deep state of genuine fear I was looking at my other friends on the shelf who were crying and yelling for this giant creature to stop and spare my life but the giant creature didn’t hear their pleas and proceeded to put me in a light grey shopping bag handed that the creature was by another unknown creature in the bakery who I wasn’t familiar with I was still screaming and begging for anybody to help I couldn’t see anything in the bag it was pitch dark the creature tied the bag tightly so I would stay in the bag. That’s when I heard the doorbell jingle again and the door closed. I could still hear my friends’ bloodcurdling screams behind me pleading with me not to go. The only thing I knew was that the giant creature was outside the bakery, taking me somewhere, where I had zero chance of escaping.
