Hey Boro! The Drama Program is coming together to create yet another amazing performance. To anyone who had the opportunity to see the fall play, the winter musical will be right up your alley.
In fact, this musical is coming up faster than you think. March 6th and 7th to be exact. And yes, you read what you read. At least the dates are very easy to remember. It’s important that you support your friends in the drama program and go to see the musical Footloose!
The story, as some may know, adds themes of intense dance and witty banter between characters, and as someone who is deeply affiliated with musical theater (wink wink) it’s full of fun and even funnier lines. Trust me!
The show is very dancy (let’s pretend that’s a word), and it’s filled with catchy songs! If you’re a fan of the 80s, you’ll love it. If you know anyone in the drama, you’ll know that rehearsals take up much of their week, and it would mean so much to them if you supported their passion.
To give you a bit of a summary, Ren, the main character, moves to a little town called Bomont. After living in big-city Chicago, Ren and his mom have to acclimate to their new surroundings and find their way in Bomont, a place that’s much different from what they’re used to. Not only this, but this new town has some rules. Mainly no dancing. Ever. This doesn’t stop Ren, however, from creating the most brilliant teenage flash mob of the age. Did I mention dancy? In the end, Ren discovers his place in Bomont, makes friends, finds the girl of his dream,s and finishes with an epic finale. All in all, it will definitely be a musical that will end all musicals.
Your support is the most important, and even if you don’t want to be in the drama, you can still be part of it by supporting the people you care about and coming to see them in the show! I know for sure that you’ll love the twists and turns (and actual turns, we do those too).
Hope to see you there!
