World Kindness Day: What Can You Do?

World Kindness Day is the day to do random acts of kindness and make people smile. This day fell on Friday, November 13th, what are the odds? A little kindness is exactly what the world needs during these hard times. Any gesture, big or small, from holding the door for a stranger, to volunteering at a soup kitchen, counts. It has been proven that helping others can result in a happier life by lowering some stress and anxiety levels. Not only should you be kind to others, but also to yourself. You should always take a breath once in a while, maybe take a walk,  just to appreciate life. Some things you can do for others, that can be done in the comfort of your own home, is to spend time with your loved ones. Even just giving them a call on the phone, to let them know you are thinking of them. You can leave a message or note around your neighborhood saying nice things, such as “you make me smile”, or “you got this!”. It has been a trend where people go around leaving their painted rocks and once you pick it up, you can add a message and pass it on to spread kindness. You can donate some clothes or canned goods to your local food bank. Support your local restaurants, even say thank you!! Common things like that are truly overlooked and as simple as it may sound, it is very rare to be done nowadays. Celebrate world kindness day everyday. Most importantly, wear a mask, stay safe, and smile:)
