Is the Pandemic “Over?”

Now that the mask mandate is lifted in schools in NJ and many places are mask optional, the pandemic is slowly coming to an end. Although you can still test positive, the number of cases is very low. As of March 14, 2022, there have only been 37 new cases, and the 7-day average of positive cases is 57. The number of positive cases is quickly declining, especially now that more and more people are getting vaccinated to protect themselves from variants of COVID-19. I feel that after two years, the pandemic is coming to an end, and things are finally getting back to normal.

Over the past two years, I think that, more than ever, people feel safer going out in public. There are many students in school who aren’t wearing their masks, and those who still have them on are only a few. You rarely hear anymore that someone has tested positive for COVID, and there hasn’t been a surge of cases in a few months. Life is slowly going back to normal, and COVID is going away.
