Last Friday, our Freehold Softball team took a trip over to Matawan to face the Huskies to open up the 2022 season. Matawan was a tough team to face, as they went to the semifinal of the NJSIAA playoffs and the Shore Conference Tournament semifinals last season. The Colonials looked strong as they scored eight runs and held the Huskies to three. Boro softball made great defensive plays and pitcher Gianna Abinanti struck out six. Sophomore Maddie Waitt went 4/4, including a three-run home run in the second inning. Liv Edmonds secured the game for the Colonials by robbing a home run for the final out.

Boro Softball has its next game Monday, April 4th at Neptune.

Come support the team at the home opener Wednesday, April 6th!
