People are always talking about the best holiday movies and how nice it is to cuddle on the couch with a cozy blanket and hot mug. For many people that is the image that comes to mind when the Christmas music starts playing. But what about the books? A good book can give you the same warm feeling, and a really good book can transport you into the story. These are a few of the best holiday books to read this winter.

  • Lovelight Farms by B. K. Borison: If a hallmark movie was a book it would be this one. A sweet romantic comedy, with fake dating, and friends to lovers, this is the perfect book to get into the holiday mindset.
  • In the Event of Love by Courtney Kae: “Exactly the slow-burn, second-chance, friends-to-lovers romance I was craving.” -Ali Hazelwood, New York Times bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis.
  • How to Excavate a Heart by Jake Maia Arlow “Capturing the wonder and thrill of first love during the tumultuous journey that is recovering from heartbreak and entering young adulthood, How to Excavate a Heart is a beautiful testament to queer joy and personal growth. Shani will make you laugh, cry, and cheer for her until the very last page. A remarkable gem.” — Racquel Marie, author of Ophelia After All
  • Kiss Her Once For Me by Allison Cochrun: “Kiss Her Once for Me is a gift of a story. Capturing the festive charm and nostalgia of the season, the fresh-fallen-snow wonder of falling head over heels, this holiday romance also reminds us that giving and receiving love can be as tangled as a knot of Christmas lights, yet with patience and perseverance, finally unwound, no less beautiful, the glowing joy we all deserve.” —Chloe Liese, author of Two Wrongs Make a Right
  • Season of Love by Helena Greer: “If you need the cozy feel of a Hallmark holiday movie in book form, visit Carrigan’s! Season of Love has all of the warm, queer, Jewish holiday vibes you could possibly want. It’s a cup of cocoa with the perfect amount of marshmallows, it’s a sweet kiss under the mistletoe. Helena Greer creates characters and settings that I never want to leave behind.”—Jen DeLuca, USA Today bestselling author of Well Matched
