Spider-Man: No Way Home is the third installment in the Spider-Man trilogy with Tom Holland’s performance as Spider-Man. After the release of the Spider-Man: Far From Home, fans weren’t sure if the series would continue as the owners of the character, Sony and Marvel, had frequent disagreements. Eventually, the two came to an agreement and announced the newest installment to the series. So mark your calendars as the movie will be released on December 17, 2021!

The fans haven’t figured out the full plot of the film as only two trailers have been released, keeping lots of secrets from the viewers. The film will be following the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home with Spider-Man now having his identity of Peter Parker revealed to the public bringing him lots of new threats and villains. The trailer shows Peter going to Dr. Strange for help with his new identity crisis. Peter gets Dr. Strange to cast a spell making everyone forget he’s Spider-Man. While the outcome of this spell isn’t completely clear, it is assumed that the spell doesn’t work and rather brings more problems such as new villains to come about. Dr. Strange’s spell seems to have opened the multiverse allowing characters from other universes to cross over into Tom Holland’s Spider-Man universe.

The trailers have revealed that villains that appeared in Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man movies, such as Electro, the Lizard, Doc Oz, Sandman, and the Green Goblin, will all be making a return. These characters are one of the biggest reasons this film is gaining so much attention and they aren’t the only returning characters. J.K. Simmons will be reprising his role as J. Jonah Jameson, the owner of the Daily News in the marvel universe’s New York. The other main source of excitement for Spider-Man: No Way Home is the possible return of Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man. Now, we haven’t seen any footage of either of these actors returning to web-sling once more, but there are many hints and teases leading the audience to believe they could return. First of all, if their villains are returning it only makes sense for the two Spider-Men to return and help out the MCU’s Peter Parker. Footage from the trailer also shows multiple off-putting scenes making it look edited to hide something such as the return of these characters.

Besides the return of these fan-favorite characters, there are rumors of Peter Parker’s best friend Ned being turned into a villain known as the Hob Goblin, a possible post-credit scene including Venom, and a possible hint or setup for Miles Morales, otherwise known as another Spidey.

There are many reasons to be excited about this movie and with all these focal points people are on the edge of their seats waiting for the release! So mark your calendars because Spider-Man: No Way Home releases in theatres on December 17, 2021!
