You know, in my head since 9th grade, I created a bucket list of what I would like to experience in high school. My bucket list, if you want to know, is: having a varsity jacket, experiencing a pep rally, going to a school play, going to prom, and going to homecoming. Funny enough, I do have a varsity jacket, been and experienced a pep rally, but that’s about it. I have never gone to homecoming, but this year I decided I should give it a shot! The theme was the Hollywood Red Carpet…I wore a sari, so I guess you could call it the Bollywood Red Carpet (haha, get it?). I didn’t really have a Hollywood dress. I was excited to go to the event even though I am not a party person at all. I made my boyfriend come with me so he could suffer with me. Nah, I’m kidding, it was really fun. My other friends came along too.
To be honest, I really, really…REALLY enjoyed the dance. I didn’t dance in the first hour, I had the…decent food they served…like fries, nuggets, pasta, etc. I chatted with my friends and stuff, but then after one of my other friends practically dragged me to the dance floor. Before, during the first hour, I told my friends I couldn’t dance, but then once I was dragged on…I really danced. So much that I was starting to sweat because of how hot the gym was…and I was losing breath. You’d figure that because I played for the Varsity Tennis Team, I would have more stamina, right? Yeah, no, I danced and collapsed after a short while from exhaustion.
The desserts they had were awesome, too. I do not have much of a sweet tooth, but the brownies and cookies were amazing. I could not have a lot, though, because I did not want a cramp after getting back on the dance floor. I did take photos of the dance floor, the HOCO court, and group photos with friends.
As someone who does NOT enjoy parties that much, would I go back? Yes. Really, I would, yes. You don’t need to have a date to go either, just grab a group of friends and hit the dance floor! It is fun! Take it from someone who doesn’t like parties. Really, it is fun…trust me.
