During the PSAT on October 23rd, students from Mr. Lachacz’s AP Government class gave a presentation to the senior class on the importance of voting.
Centering on the theme “Your Vote Matters”, seniors Aidan Warren, Benjamin Duchovny, and Cesar Ramos-Analco presented information on issues that matter most to students and how elections impact them. They covered topics such as the cost of college and living, as well as what keeps people from voting.
They also briefly covered the mainstream political parties, the candidates in this year’s gubernatorial election, and discussed how to register to vote.
The presentation also included a short video, featuring Principal Brown and various teachers at the Boro explaining why voting is important, allowing students to hear the message from some of their own teachers.
Did you miss the presentation but still want to register to vote?
Registering is easy! While it is too late to register for this year’s gubernatorial election, you can still register and be eligible to vote in next year’s primary election and midterm election!
To do so, visit https://www.monmouthcountyvotes.gov/voter-information/voter-registration/ to learn more about how you can register.
