At the FRHSD Board Meeting on Thursday, December 11th, students from Freehold High School were awarded with district medals for their academic and extracurricular achievements.
2026 National Merit Scholarship Program Semi-Finalist
Students were recognized as semi-finalists in the National Merit Scholarship program for extraordinary performance on the PSAT, reaching nearly a perfect score of 1520.
Luksh Mahajan, one of just 17,000 high school students, was awarded with a district medal for achieving an impressive score of 1520.
2026 National Merit Scholarship Program Commended Scholars
Students were recognized as Commended Scholars in the National Merit Scholarship program for reaching a selection-index of 210 or above. This roughly translates to scoring above 1380-1420.
James Balestrieri, Sydney Cohen, Daniel Dempsey, Mark Gelfand-Titiyevskiy, Joseph Ghaly, Matthew Kouveliotes, Arianna Maini, Jayson Preiser, Benjamin Sorokin, and Colten Turner are ten of 41,000 students in the country who received commendation for their performance on the PSAT last year.
Perfect Score on the English Section of the SAT
Achieving a perfect score of 800 on the English Section of the SAT is an impressive feat, with less than 1% of students nationwide reaching this score.
Daniel Dempsey received a district medal for reaching this score on the June SAT. He was the only student in the district to be recognized for this achievement.
Perfect Score on the Math Section of the SAT
Achieving a perfect score of 800 on the Math Section of the SAT is also an impressive feat, with less than 1% of students nationwide reaching this score.
James Balestrieri, Niyati Batra, Luksh Mahajan, Noah Sharon, and Srilasya Voruganti received district medals for reaching this score on their SATs.
First Place, High School Division, University of North Dakota CyberHawks National CTF Finals
A team from the CyberSecurity Club participated in the finals of the CyberHawks CTF competition at the University of North Dakota. They earned 1st place in the High School Division of the competition and 6th place in the general division, which included collegiate teams.
Karl Arabit, Alexander Eberhardt, Amer Gomma, and Rishabh Ranjit received district medals for their performance in this competition.
Second Place, Garden State Esports Championship at GCU
Students from Freehold’s recently formed esports team saw success in the fall season of Marvel Rivals, remaining undefeated until a 2nd place finish at the state championship at Georgian Court University. They were coached by Mr. Mogilski and Chef Dellanno.
Aidan Warren, Benjamin Sorokin, Allen Hou, Noah Davidson, Rodrigo Deunas Romani, Aedan Milla, Daniel Dempsey, Jesus Perez, Aaron Feinstein, Benjamin Marquez, Joshua Dadala, Julio Munoz Hernandez, Daniel Bonifacio Rufino, Dhruv Prithviram, and Nasiar Niblack-Hollingsworth received district medals for this achievement.
