Boro’s hallways were full of color and laughter as students showed off their school spirit for our homecoming spirit week 2025. From inflatable boats to dressing as the Lorax, each day brought new energy, pride, and creativity to the school. This week wasn’t just about dressing up; it was about showing pride in our school (and trying to outdo everyone else).
We started the week strong with “Anything but a backpack day”. We wanted to give a special thank you to our new principal, Mr. Brown, who made this happen after just a few short months here. Within the first five minutes of walking into the building on Monday, I spotted two shopping carts, a suitcase, an inflatable raft, coolers, and someone’s younger brother. This kickoff to the week was just the beginning, as students tried their hardest to do the most. The hallways were an absolute nightmare; however, they were filled with laughter as students saw what others decided to bring.
We then had a “White Lies” theme on Tuesday, and once again, students really pulled through. I spoke with many students who said that they had gone out the night before to buy a white shirt just to show their school pride and participate in spirit week. I think this goes to show how excited and eager students were to get involved with the school’s activities, and I think it brought many groups together.
Unity Day on Wednesday had an amazing show of orange, with lots of people showing support.
Our BORO PRIDE day on Thursday was a comfy day, with the seniors having a chill day while the underclassmen tested. The school was full of blue and gold.
Last but certainly not least, our dress as a character day on Friday really allowed many to show off their creativity, especially since dressing up for Halloween isn’t allowed in the district. I think this is another credit to Mr. Brown, who saw the students’ frustration and wanted to allow us to dress up anyway. The halls were filled with students dressed in outfits ranging from full Patrick Star costumes to old viral vines that had everyone laughing. Once again, the energy of the school was brighter as students felt more lighthearted as they laughed their way to class.
At the end of the day, the winner was announced: the SENIORS took home the points for their class. In second place came the juniors, with the freshman and sophomores to follow in 3rd and 4th place. Great job, Boro! Keep up the pride!
