Freehold High School’s very own Model United Nations delegation attended the YMCA’s Model UN Conference in Hershey, Pennsylvania on the weekend of January 9th! Delegates from FHS spent the 2-day conference debating viewpoints, presenting resolutions, and representing their countries.
Freehold High School sent over 60 delegates to the conference with over 1,300 students from the Northeast. Delegates debated in various committees, including but not limited to the General Assembly, World Health Organization, Environment and Technology, and many more! Our very own Benjamin Sorokin was the Chair for Security Council C, meaning he was the presiding officer for the entire committee, guiding delegates through debate.
At the closing ceremony on Sunday, many of our delegates were recognized for their hard work!
- Amina Gul won the election to be Chair of Security Council B
- Karl Arabit won the election to be the Chair of the European Summit Committee
- Jayden Billingsley won the election to be Chair of the Economic and Finance Committee A, and was selected to be an alternate delegate to the Conference on National Affairs
- Niyati Batra, Anay Bhatt, Aedan Milla, and Aidan Yung were recognized for their Outstanding Brief in International Court of Justice B
The Freehold High School Delegation was recognized as an Outstanding Delegation for their hard work.
Congratulations to all the delegates and thank you to MUN’s Advisor, Mrs. Cohen and the parent chaperones for making this trip possible!
