Everyone is good at something, whether it’s writing or a specific sport or something that just leaves you happy and grinning by the time it’s over. In high school, we all want that something, strive to find it in our daily lives.
For the chorus, chamber choir, band, and percussion, music is our light.
This week, on December 17th, the band, chorus, chamber choir, and percussion ensemble are showing off the talents they’ve perfected since the beginning of this year.
Maybe I’m a bit biased, as I’m participating in three out of four of said ensembles, but this concert is an incredible way to support your friends here at Freehold Boro!
During this concert, all four groups will perform. These groups are all led by Freehold Boro’s music director, Mr. Gross. First, the chamber choir, which is an audition-only singing group. This upcoming concert is their opportunity to demonstrate their talent, as they sing various songs filled with thoughts of winter and the holidays.
Another group, the chorus, an elective class, will sing many classic Christmas songs as well as a couple you may not have heard. They have been working hard since the beginning of the year to bring this performance to you!
The concert band, which meets every Thursday, despite overworked spit valves and broken reeds, has been tirelessly practicing and working hard to show off its progress. This club, which is an extension of the marching band here at Boro, is playing three songs, which they have been perfecting since the end of the football season.
Last but not least, the percussion ensemble. The musicians in it have been working hard and will provide impressive entertainment during the Wednesday, December 17th concert!
The concert starts at six-thirty, and will be a night filled with music, joy, and sentimental songs which will definitely put you in the holiday spirit!
Come join us in a night of catchy music and support your peers and congratulate them on their hard work. Have an amazing winter break!
