This year’s Spooktacular Parade occurred on October 30th. This parade was an opportunity for everyone to get into their Halloween costumes a day early – whether they were a part of the parade, or just watching it from the crowd. The six marching bands from the schools in the Freehold Regional High School District showed up, including our very own Freehold Marching Colonials. The band typically does costume themes by section, but this year they decided to match across the whole band, going with a Minions theme. The mass of yellow marching down the streets of downtown Freehold was quite the sight to behold. If you looked closely, you could even see the band director, Mr. Gross, dressed up as Gru. The performances from the bands, and all other participants in the parade, brought smiles to a multitude of people within the Freehold area.

If you want to catch the band at another parade, they will be marching in the Saint Patrick’s Day parade on March 17th, 2023. But before then, the band will be performing at our school’s Winter concert on December 14th, along with the concert chorus, chamber choir, and percussion ensemble.
